Perfidia D Z Church Books
A strong sense of place and a a twisty plot are highlights of this terrific suspense novel. Church kept me guessing throughout the book as her determined and clever protagonist navigates a minefield of family secrets, in an island mansion populated by people who are not who they seem to be, and who have myriad motives and agendas. Church's love of Barbados comes through in the descriptions and made me want to hop a plane to Bridgetown. And I was genuinely surprised by several of the outcomes. Highly recommended!Product details

Perfidia D Z Church Books Reviews
I just couldn't get into this one. The writing style is fine, but there were just too many characters that I couldn't keep straight and the romantic thread of the story just seemed frankly ridiculous to me. Not many of the characters seemed at all like genuine people and I ended up skimming large sections. I guess I would categorize this book as "silly."
This book will is amazing for a debut novel. The characters keep changing from good to bad and it pays to go back and re-read a section to understand all of the hidden clues. Church's use of arcane vocabulary makes the read challenging. The story is very complex but the reader rides the trials and tribulations of the heroine throughout. I highly recommend this challenging mystery.
I want to add one more thought - there only a few unknown vocabulary words, but the language throughout the book is easy to understand and flows smoothly. The reader should be willing to put his/her mindset into the Barbados patois. I actually read some passages out loud to see if I could hear this unique language.
I enjoyed this so much! Wonderful to read the talented D.Z. Church. I have recommended this for my summer book club!
With each new discovery Church led me with Olivia to her next mystery to be solved. I enjoyed the book which left me with wanting my own adventure in Barbados.

Very vivid in characters and locations. Somewhat confusing at times as to who was who. Excellent writing by the author.
